Moohan Martial Arts has been a trusted part of the Cumming, GA community since 2007. As the city has grown, so have we—building strong relationships with families, schools, and local organizations. Over the years, we’ve earned the trust of hundreds of parents who want more than just an after-school activity for their teens. They want a place where their children can grow into confident, respectful, and capable young adults.

We’re proud to have grown alongside Cumming, supporting local events and becoming a meaningful part of this thriving community.

Building Stronger Minds and Bodies

Teen years are filled with academic pressure, social challenges, and emotional changes. Taekwondo provides a structured environment where students build physical strength, mental resilience, and emotional balance. Through discipline, repetition, and progress toward their next belt, teens develop focus and perseverance—skills that directly impact school performance and personal growth.

Leadership That Lasts Beyond High School

At Moohan, many of our students begin training at a young age and continue all the way through high school and beyond. These long-term students often take on leadership roles as junior instructors or mentors within the dojang. We’ve seen them grow from shy white belts into confident black belts who lead by example—inside and outside the studio.

This leadership training doesn’t stop at graduation. Our alumni go on to thrive in college and the professional world, consistently reporting how the values they learned at Moohan—respect, perseverance, integrity, and indomitable spirit—gave them a real advantage in interviews, teamwork, and even entrepreneurship.

Real Stories, Real Impact

At Moohan Martial Arts, we don’t just teach forms—we raise leaders. And nothing proves this more than the journeys of our longtime students.

From 8-Year-Old White Belt to U.S. Military Leader

First Dan Black Belt Test

Back in 2010, an 8-year-old girl stepped into our dojang for the first time. With steady training, she progressed through the belt ranks and completed Moohan’s leadership course. She later served as a junior instructor, inspiring younger students with her kindness, discipline, and perseverance.

Today, she proudly serves in the U.S. military, living out the values she practiced on the mat—discipline, courage, and integrity. What makes her story even more powerful is that she still keeps in touch. She often shares that when her service commitment ends, she hopes to return to Moohan—not only to train again, but also to work alongside us as part of the Moohan team. Her journey is a true testament to how deeply martial arts can shape a person’s life path.

A Full-Circle Journey: From Student to Full-Time Instructor

In 2011, a 12-year-old boy began training with us. Through dedication and consistency, he advanced in rank and character, completing our leadership program and earning his black belt. After college, he took it a step further by becoming a certified Kukkiwon instructor, and now works full-time at Moohan as a professional instructor.

But his journey didn’t stop there—he continues to grow not only as a teacher, but also as a student of Taekwondo. To this day, he actively participates in the classes I personally lead and receives one-on-one coaching from me. His humility, passion, and dedication are a shining example to our current students.

These aren’t just stories of success—they’re stories of family. At Moohan Martial Arts, our students don’t just train with us… they grow with us, they return to us, and they become part of something lasting.
